The package features long-sought Tier Six pension reforms, allowing local teachers to retire with full benefits at age 58 after 30 years of service. However, the agreement also rolls back several near-term climate goals, extending the state's greenhouse gas deadline to 2028, while capping car insurance payouts for at-fault or impaired drivers.Meanwhile, a major political office relocation is official for the region. Congressman Nick Langworthy is moving his district office from Market Street in Corning to downtown Elmira, effective Monday. Langworthy says the new space inside the Chemung County Building offers much-needed security and better positioning to serve constituents.And a Steuben County veteran is being honored at the state capital.
